J.J. Martin was born in Manitoba and grew up Catholic in Ontario. He pursued graduate studies at the University of Ottawa in Anthropology of Religion. His business writing has appeared in a variety of online and print publications. In his debut novel, J.J. Martin puts a name to the hardship of abuse, sharing its dark soul, hoping history does not repeat. He is an advocate and supporter of SNAP (Survivor's Network of those Abused by Priests) and the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (TRC). He lives in Toronto with his wife, Susan, his first and best reader.
